Brilliant first effort

This may be your first flash, but in my eyes you show great promise. The whole thing was simple, but presented in a way that kept the viewer's eyes busy; that's a good thing to do, you never want the action to get dull or static. I loved the growing variety of the backgrounds and things he encountered. Very nice presentation overall; bright colors, nice variety of visuals, smooth animation, it all works nicely. My only nitpick was the little dude walking felt like he needed a frame or two added to his walk cycle, but no big issue there, also I was a little jostled by the sudden end, it would have been nice to see the whole thing start to wind down towards the end. Keep up the good work man.

Wow this means alot coming from you since you also make some pretty awsome flashes! Yeah, i dont know what went wrong with the waking dude like you said needs a frame or to. And about the end i didnt know what to do further so left it that way. Honestly im done with this animation i need to go and make some new awsome art!

I am starting to love flash more and more! thanks for the compliments and the thumbs up! ;)

Could have added more

Catchy tune, but everything needs work. Not to be harsh, it is all very basic and on the lifeless side. What I would suggest is practicing with another animation; try and sync up the background guys to the song; have the drummer drum to the beat of the song, have the singer mouth the words and have the dancing guy have some different movements. You could even do different angles that show other characters dancing to the music, close ups on the band, whatever keeps the audience's attention. Don't give up, but try again.

There is potential

I'm a fan of the series so I was able to catch some of the references which indeed did make me laugh. I get you were going for a quick and humorously messy style, but at points it was hard for me to make anything out. Since judging from the comments, people don't recognize this series, the unclear visuals would make it harder for them to know what is going on. Like I said before, some things actually did make me laugh, I think if you went for a clearer style of art (it doesn't have to be great, it can even be simple, as long as it gets the idea across) and tighten up the dialogue it can work. Keep at it man, maybe even try and tackle individual episodes and work your way through the series.

Best of luck man,

DarkMatter responds:

thanks for your honest I appreciate it =D
I considered making a second episode including the rest of the OVA, after all Mizuki was never in this animation!

Brilliant execution

I really loved this movie. The styling stole the show for me;
-The interaction with the mouse and menus added a fresh and interesting flair to this flash and if there's one thing that I love it is originality.

-The Fight between Vega and Ryu was great. It was as fast paced and over the top like some other flashes I've seen, but because of that I really appreciated that. These moves felt like they could be performed by the fighters, there was not the over exaggerated anime powered up combat. :)

-The Menu transformation was excellent, I loved the Ken remix as well.

-The ending credits was phenomenal! I always loved "I wanna be a Street Fighter" the entire SF2 cast upgrading and teaming up was a blast to watch.

All my best to you dude, keep up the excellent work, I'll be sure to check out all of your stuff now. :)

Take care

Thank you for the well-written and positive comment. ^^
Hope you will like my future works too.

[EDIT]: Wait a sec, your name is kinda familiar to me...
AH!!! You VA'ed in one of R1665's movies, right? XD
Which character did you voice again? I totally forgot. X(

Anyway, thanks for the review. ;D

Hilarious, stylish and original

Great job, I've always been a fan of your work. This continues your excellent track record. The visuals were great, I loved the text boxes and the film scratches. The transformation sequence was brilliantly animated and appropriately dynamic. The thing though that really caught my attention was the absolute lack of voices, and the original idea. These two things added greatly to the score. Many maaany people have spoofed Transformers, but your idea wasn't anything I'd expect or go "Pffft..seen it." To me fresh is good.

Well that was my $0.02 keep up the great work, I look forward to your next piece.

JohnnyUtah responds:

thank you sir

EDIT: WELL, THANKS FOR SEND THE BUDDY, I CAN ADD YOU NOW :D

Nice work man

This was a real entertaining piece and I don't believe it was too talky; the constant actions and reactions of the characters prevented things from suffering talking head syndrome. This had many strengths:

-Character design: In all of your work I've noticed that you are able to really create interesting character designs and they are quite detailed. Also, am I insane, or was Gigantor inspired by Haggar from Final Fight? There's something familiar about him. :)

-Colors/ overall presentation: I liked the background you chose, it was simple, but the good choice of colors and the small glowing objects in the background made it all feel like it was a fantasy forest.

-Animation: Stellar, simply stellar. All of the characters have some form of movement, and the lip syncing is fantastic! The little movement of the tiny guy's ears, Gigantor's brow lifts or constant eye movement really add life to this.

I think this is a great piece, but the lack of music was a little issue for me; it wasn't vital but a bit of ambient music in the background (especially when Gigantor reveals his plan) would have added a bit to this. Overall, I can't think of anything really that I didn't enjoy with this. Keep up the good work man and all the best. I hope to see more from you soon.

thanks dude

Nice bit of fun with a good visual flair

Nice work on this submission man, it was funny and some things caught my eye. Here are my thoughts:

-I really really loved the details you put in this. The camera work was exceptionally fluid and it added a lot to your presentation; this easily could have been done with a wider static view, but your motion added life and energy to this piece. I also liked that you had a similar camera effect on the title screen.

-The characters fight choreography and motions were striking and really gave it an artistic flair; they didn't just kick, fight and do special moves, the additions such as Ken's spinning rise felt in character and added personality.

-I have to say that I've always had a fond nostalgic memory of Guile's stage, I was happy to see you replicated it here.

-The classic sound effects were a good touch!

-The ending was unexpected and hilarious

Overall a great little clip! Great job, I can't think of anything that I didn't like about this piece man. I hope to see more of your work in the future.

TheNooch responds:

Choreographing these animated battles is something of a passion of mine, I'm really glad you guys liked it and I especially appreciate this thoughtful critique.

And while I'm happy with this animation, the more I look at it the more I realize there is room for growth. Cleaner art, more filler punches, quicker pace, etc.

Thanks very much for the comment.

Filled to the brim with hilarity and nostalgia

This was a fantastic piece that made me sad when it ended. You perfectly captured the lovable odd and cheesy 80's cartoon feel; from the say no to drugs and other "after school special" spiel, the random Jem and the Hologram -like girl rocker who is always turning down another characters advances, to the animation style of old scoobey doo cartoons. Even the ending part with the logo gave me flashbacks. The animation was so fluid and the colors were nicely utilized. A well done piece, all of my points are going to you. (Here's hoping we'll see a sequel!)

New and it works well, but has few minor issues

Hey there dude,
I'm a big fan of your work and I wanted to give a review that wasn't just a "oh cool" post. I rather enjoyed this new piece from you.

Presentation:
-The opening was funny and very nicely animated. It had a great variety of colors and shading, it really looked fantastic when the grey haired guy was overlooking the valley. I think that background showed off your artistic strengths quite nicely.

-The post-intro sponsor clip was a nice touch and helped with the overall anime spoof feeling.

-The character designs were well done and did feel significantly anime-ish. I could actually see these being used in a real show.

-Nice touch with the ending of the episode graphic and outro

audio:
-The voices fit with what you were going for, though for some reason I really liked the balding old man's voice. It stood out more. Also Rina-chan's altered pitch worked for me; It was lower in pitch than her usual anime girl voice, nice. Also Galacticamaru's voice came out nice, who voiced him? You or Toma?

-Music: The music was nice but I wish there was more of it. The lack of music was a bit too noticeable on my end. A little loop or two for some of the exposition scenes would have helped the overall atmosphere.

Misc:
-While I did enjoy this a bunch, parts of it felt a little slow. I can't put my finger on it, but maybe if a little more was going on that would solve this. Or maybe it could have been split into a second episode?

-I found the overall jokes funny, but adding in some other anime tropes would have been added to variety.

-Seeing a bit more of the bad guy would have been nice, though I get you were going for the exposition-heavy episode style that's focused on the mainstays.

Overall I found this to be a entertaining piece, it wasn't perfect, but it was a very strong effort. I feel that you succeeded in what you were trying to do. A little more variety in the "episode" would work wonders and it would take this straight to 10 for me. If you spoof anime again, it would be funny to see you tackle other genres and add other gags, maybe even bizarre commercial breaks could work. It was nice seeing something different than the Awesome series. I do hope you continue with things like this. I'm not sure if you'll read this, but I hope this was helpful. Keep up the good stuff man.
